Similar to the Innovate Pasadena Friday Morning Coffee format, our Meet-Up will be an informal meeting and will feature a designer involved in transforming business through design.

For our first meeting on design, Dr. Søren Petersen will be sharing his experiences in design consulting with cutting edge clients building competitive advantage. He will share experiences from BMW Group Steelcase and Ramboll Group on business models for creating automotive, product and architectural successes.

About Dr. Søren Petersen:
Dr. Søren Petersen is an international business consultant and design science researcher, CEO and co-founder of, author and a regular contributor to The Huffington Post – The Creative Economy:

Throughout his twenty-year career, he has worked with many top tier international organizations, including Rambøll Group, BMW Group DesignworksUSA, Stanford University, Copenhagen Business School, Fraunhofer Institute, INDEX: Award, Delft University, Kookmin University and Hanyang University.

He received his PhD from Stanford University in ME Design Research, MS Mechanical Engineering from The Technical University of Denmark and his BS Transportation Design from Art Center College of Design. He has published twenty-three scientific papers and over one hundred and eighty articles on the Creative Economy, as well as, authoring Profit from Design, a definitive book on design quantification.

Research areas are comprised of design strategy – developing processes, methods, tools and metrics for bridging business and design.
