Tell us about yourself!
I am an information technology (IT) consultant who designs IT solutions for solving business problems and building digital capabilities. My expertise and specialties are in the areas of data analytics, cloud computing, and process frameworks. That might sound a bit geeky, but I like what I do. I also hold many professional and technical certifications on Cisco networking, Oracle databases, Amazon Web Services, IT process frameworks, project management, business analysis, and information security.
Previously, I held various executive-level, managerial, or technical lead positions in the financial services, manufacturing, motion picture, engineering, legal, consulting, academic, and music industries. I am an active member of itSMF USA Chapter, HDI Los Angeles Chapter the Los Angeles chapter of ISACA. Everyone is welcome to learn more about what I do professionally by checking out my LinkedIn profile at https://www.linkedin.com/in/contactdavidlowe.

What made you decide to choose Epic Spaces?
You know, working from home is not that easy sometimes. So many distractions at time that need to be dealt with such as the up-and-down temperature in the house during the day, the cars rolling by off the street, airplanes flying overhead (I live close to a municipal airport), and not to mention the active neighbors who like to play their stereo very loud with their noisy barking dogs. Sometimes things can get a bit dicey when the home Internet connection goes out with no warnings.
All those distractions became non-issue once I started coming to Epic on a regular basis. The staff members are friendly, and the people in the office are courteous and professional. The Internet connection has been responsive and reliable. Since I like to bring my own lunch, I can appreciate when the kitchen/pantry area is kept clean and orderly by the staff. The location is also convenient with many shops/restaurants nearby if you enjoy eating out or just walking around.
Co-working is not for everyone and may take some time to get used to, but, in my case, Epic Spaces is the best solution for me. I look forward to coming to the office, continuing to build my portfolio, and growing my consulting practice.

What topics or ideas do you regularly seek out or follow? Do you have a favorite professional whose work you really like or regularly follow?
I like to follow a variety of subject matters and topics in the IT area. I cannot help it – it is what I like to do. I subscribe to over 100 IT management blog feeds and regularly share great educational posts via my Twitter handle @DainesAnalytics. For non-IT topics, I am a big fan of author Seth Godin. His ideas of dancing with one’s own fear, overcoming resistance, choosing yourself, learning through failing a lot, sticking with the dip, and being the linchpin or the best in what you do really resonate with me. I own many of Seth’s books in the paper, Kindle, and audio formats, and I listen to one of Seth’s audiobooks daily.

What else would you like to share about you?
On my spare time, I enjoy playing computer games. Yes, the PC variety and not so much the gaming console type. I guess I am still very much an old-school gamer. I especially like the mass multi-player role-playing game (MMORPG) genre such as Everquest, Final Fantasy, and World of Warcraft. Really like the community interaction aspect of the MMORPGs. Not trying to sound boring or geeky, but to each his own, right?
